Vasilis Papatsiros

Vasileios Papatsiros, DVM and PhD graduated as a veterinarian in 2001 from the School of Veterinary Medicine, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH). He got his PhD degree in 2006 from the Clinic of Farm Animals (School of Veterinary Medicine, AUTH). He has worked as a researcher in projects, as a freelance swine expert veterinarian and veterinary officer in the Directorate General of Veterinary Services of Greek Ministry of Rural Development and Food. Since 2007, he is working as academic staff in Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Thessaly, teaching porcine medicine, porcine reproduction and animal husbandry- ethics-animal welfare-legislation to veterinary students. Since 2018 he is in an Associate Professor position of Porcine Medicine. He is supervising the work of 3 PhD students in topics of PRRSV pathogenesis, PRRSV vaccination, and gut health. Currently active in applied research on PRRSV, PCV, PLHV. PERV, heat stress, and alternatives to antibiotics animals.
