Arie van Nes, DVM, PhD and EBVS European Specialist in Porcine Health Management, graduated in the Veterinary School of Utrecht University in 1990. After graduation he worked in the Ambulatory clinic of the University and from 1992 he combined teaching, the Ambulatory clinic and research and finished his PhD in 1999 on mathematical modelling of Aujeszky’s Disease virus dynamics in vaccinated pig populations. He was appointed as Associate professor in 2004, in which year he also became a diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Public Health. He is interested in epidemiology, MRSA, public health and divers infections.
